This policy explains payments, billing, security, taxes, and refunds for the Jainism mobile app and the jainism.me website (collectively, the “Services”). It supplements the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
1) Introduction
This Payment and Refund Policy applies to the Jainism app and Site operated by Inroys / Jainism.me (the “Service Provider”). It is intended to provide clear information about payments, billing, and refunds.
2) Accepted Payment Methods
We accept common payment instruments in India and internationally, including:
Credit and debit cards
Net banking and UPI
Wallets and other third-party payment gateways
Additional terms or gateway fees may apply depending on your selected method.
3) Payment Processing & Confirmation
Payments are processed immediately once your details are verified.
Upon successful payment, you will see an in-app or on-site confirmation screen and/or receive a confirmation email at your registered email address.
For preorders or backordered physical goods, we will notify shipping timelines separately.
4) Security & Data Handling
Transactions are encrypted and handled by PCI DSS-compliant gateways where applicable.
We do not store full card numbers, CVV, or net-banking credentials on our servers.
Minimal transaction metadata may be retained for reconciliation, support, taxation, and fraud prevention.
5) Pricing, Currency & Taxes
Prices are displayed in INR by default; international equivalents may be shown for convenience.
Taxes (e.g., GST) may apply based on your location and the type of goods/services.
Invoices/receipts will be provided electronically. For GST-compliant invoices, you may be asked for additional details.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors; if a correction occurs after you pay, we will contact you with options.
6) Subscriptions & Renewals
If a subscription feature is offered, it will auto-renew by default unless cancelled before the renewal date.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions via the App, Site, or your app-store account (if purchased through an app store).
Partial periods are not refunded unless required by law.
7) Refunds
Non-Refundable: All services, donations, and product orders made through the Services are non-refundable. Once payment is completed, no refunds will be issued except in the cases listed below.
Exceptions
Duplicate charge or overcharge due to a system/gateway error attributable to the Service Provider.
Failed or incomplete delivery of a digital item due to a technical fault on our side that we cannot remedy within a reasonable time.
Cancelled order for a physical product that becomes unavailable before dispatch.
For any of the above, contact support with your order/payment ID and evidence. Approved refunds (if any) will be processed to the original payment method, typically within 7–14 working days, subject to your bank/gateway timelines.
8) Chargebacks & Disputes
Please contact our support team first for quick resolution of billing issues.
If a dispute persists, it will be handled under applicable Indian law and competent jurisdiction.
Initiating chargebacks for valid transactions may result in account suspension pending investigation.
9) Failed, Cancelled, or Declined Payments
If a payment fails, your order or donation will not be recorded. You may retry with a different method.
We may cancel orders suspected of fraud or policy violations and will notify you where feasible.
For subscription renewals, we may make additional attempts before cancelling access.
10) Delivery: Digital & Physical Goods
Digital goods (e.g., media, access keys) are typically delivered instantly after payment confirmation.
Physical goods (e.g., religious items) ship to your provided address. Shipping costs/timelines will be shown at checkout. You will receive a tracking link where available.
Damaged/defective items: Please report within 48 hours of delivery with photos; we will work with you to resolve per our product policy (replacement, store credit, or refund where applicable).
11) KYC/Verification & Fraud Prevention
We may request identity/address verification for high-value orders or regulatory compliance.
Orders flagged by automated anti-fraud checks may be delayed or cancelled.
12) Rewards, Redemptions & Payouts
Our community Rewards & Points Program allows users to earn points for verified contributions (e.g., posting news/events, adding temples, dharamshalas, bhojanshalas, vihar updates, and devotional engagement like niyam/panchang). This section explains how rewards interact with payments and refunds.
Nature of Points
Points are a promotional reward and not legal tender, securities, or transferable property.
Points accrue provisionally and may be adjusted post-review for quality, duplication, or policy violations.
Redemption
1 point = 1 paisa (₹0.01); minimum redemption is ₹20 (2000 points).
Redemption may require a minimum balance, PAN and bank/UPI details, and successful KYC.
Processing typically takes 7–14 business days after approval; bank/gateway timelines apply.
Applicable TDS/withholding may be deducted; users are responsible for personal tax filings.
Expiry & Forfeiture
Unredeemed points may expire after 12 months of inactivity or upon Program end (a notice period may be provided).
Points may be forfeited for spam, fraud, scraping, misinformation, or other policy violations.
Disputes
Reward disputes should be raised with our support team along with evidence (submission IDs, screenshots).
Unresolved disputes will be handled under applicable Indian law and competent jurisdiction.
13) Rewards & Data Privacy
To process reward redemptions and payouts under the Rewards & Points Program, Jainism.me may collect additional personal and financial details strictly for verification and payment compliance purposes.
Information Collected
PAN and KYC Documents: Required to verify user identity before payouts and to comply with Indian tax laws.
Bank or UPI Details: Used only for transferring redeemed rewards.
